Saturday 23rd October 2021 was a momentous day for us here at Hedonistic Hiking.  After being granted permission from the Australian authorities to travel, we set foot on Italian soil for the first time in almost two years...

At Hedonistic Hiking we always like to aim high, and mountains are a natural home for us with their stunning vistas, silent beauty and sense of achievement after making those ascents!

In her second Blog for the US online magazine, Sixty and Me, Jackie discusses our relationship with food and why the Italians are so good at eating seasonally and locally. 

Last month Jackie took on the role of guest writer for the fabulous online magazine, Sixty and Me, and contributed the first of several articles in her quest to share her favourite pastime.

Dina and I (Annabel) have worked alongside Mick and Jackie in Italy for many seasons and are accustomed to the high standards which they maintain on their tours. But, this weekend, we were their guests on a two day camping trip high in Victoria's Alpine National Park close to Mount Cobbler and I have to say that we were not disappointed!

So, ever wondered what Hedonistic Hikers do for Christmas? They pack a tent, load up with great food and wine, throw their hiking gear in the 4WD and head for the mountains. This year Mick and I spent four days, just the two of us, exploring the Alpine National Park, camping on the shores of beautiful Lake Cobbler, cooking on the campfire and hiking on Mount Cobbler and the Australian Alpine Walking Track.
