Abruzzo: From the Apennines to the Adriatic

Submitted by HedonisticHiking on 9 Apr 2022

For us at Hedonistic Hiking, Abruzzo is one of the most appealing regions of Italy because of its wild mountains and wonderfully resourceful people.  Its sparsley populated landscape makes hiking in this area a real pleasure, with spell-binding views, fabulous flora and fauna and rural traditions which date back centuries. Life here was hard, but the locals are generous and spirited, and offer us the warmest of welcomes whenever we come through. We can't wait to return this year for our Wilds of Abruzzo tour, from 5th - 13th June, and have a couple of spaces free if you would like to join us. The tour starts and finishes in Rome and we stay in three charming hotels in mountain villages, far from Italy's beaten tourist tracks.

Jackie has recently been interviewed for the Amateur Traveler Podcast series, talking all about the region of Abruzzo.  The site is owned by US travel journalist and podcaster Chris Christensen and it was designed to motivate people to travel, to offer expert opinions on destinations and top tips for making the most of a region with limited time.  You can listen to the full podcast here.
