The hikes are on generally well-graded tracks on hilly terrain, rocky in places. The walking is fairly rugged in sections so sturdy walking boots, with good ankle support, are recommended. Walking poles are useful. The Saturday hike is 15 km and Sunday's hike 16 km. Average temperatures in March: Dinner Plain: Max 16°- Min 4°. Average monthly rainfall: 88mm. These are averages so be prepared for both warmer (up to 22°) and cooler (down to 0°) temperatures. The weather in the mountains is prone to sudden changes so you need to have suitable warm/waterproof clothing.

Accommodation will be in a spacious lodge/chalet in Dinner Plain village. All rooms will have ensuite or private bathroom facilities.  The accommodation package costs $425 per room (for either 1 or 2 people) for 3 nights. This price includes breakfast.
